RootsTech 2026 Day 2: Five Advanced Sessions and One Very Tired Brain
RootsTech 2026 Day 2 was a full day — and a heavy one. Seven sessions, most of them Advanced/Professional level, plus a running battle with the session calendar to figure out what to watch now, what to move to replay, and what to add to the wish list for next time. I started organized, with Obsidian open and every syllabus downloaded, and I ended the day genuinely tired in the best possible way. The standout session of the afternoon was Alice Childs’s deep dive into using autosomal DNA to identify an ancestor’s likely parents — the first Advanced/Professional session this week that truly felt advanced. Plus a watch party with Ride Along partners, a midday errand break, and a very patient husband who got the evening off from genealogy. Here’s how Day 2 went.
