About Me

My name is Kirsten, and I have had a passion for family history since 5th grade when we were tasked with creating a family tree and interviewing our grandparents. It was quite challenging to spell Czechoslovakia as a 10-year-old! However, my interest in genealogy grew, and I continued to research casually until about 6 years ago when I finally had the time to delve deeper into it.

I research, write, and publish weekly articles exploring the lives of my ancestors and the historical contexts in which they lived. My blog serves as both a personal archive and an educational resource for other genealogists.

I made the decision to start a blog for several reasons:

1. I wanted a platform to share the stories of the ancestors I was uncovering during my research.

2. I desired to connect with other family members who share an interest in our family history – both close relatives and possibly distant cousins.

3. I felt a creative urge and believed that writing about my research and sharing it with others was a worthwhile pursuit.
